What's the best kept secret about Lehigh?
Lehigh students have an amazing school spirit that makes them attached to each other strongly. It can be seen during sport competitions especially at Lafayette rivalry.

What has been your most memorable experience at Lehigh?
April 2009, International Bazaar Fashion Show was amazing. I took part in the show and was one of the co-chairs. We had more than 50 models that represented costumes from all over the world. It was an amazing way to represent international students at Lehigh. Also, I had a chance to represent Turkey with a small belly-dance show. The responses that we got were amazing. People said that it was the best international fashion show at Lehigh’s history.

My favorite class/professor:
Prof. Yukich is an amazing Calculus instructor who is passionate about teaching the material. He remembers everyone’s name in the class and does lottery to pick student names to go lunch with. He is excited about teaching, which in turn makes the students want to learn.

Why did you choose Lehigh?
If you are an international student, you get this question a lot. I decided to come to Lehigh after attending an alumni meeting in Istanbul and after receiving an email from a current Lehigh student. From those experiences, I understood that Lehigh values its students. I didn’t want to a school where I would be just part of a crowd.

Lehigh has a great Engineering School which is really good at rankings. Moreover, Bethlehem is really close to big cities such as New York and Philadelphia.

What do you wish you knew about Lehigh before you arrived on campus?
I didn’t know anyone from Lehigh before starting my freshmen year. As I was really nervous about making friends, I was trying to meet new people through Facebook so that I would now a few students before the school starts. Now, I can see that it was totally unnecessary, as I have met with great people beginning from my first day at Lehigh.

How did Lehigh help you transition to life in the US?
The International Student Orientation was really helpful as I had a chance to meet with all the international students who have the same expectations from Lehigh like I do. Also, during my freshman English class for international writers, we had a chance to discuss the differences between our culture and American life. That English class was another factor which helped my transition to Lehigh.

What is your favorite location on campus?
I enjoy sitting on a bench at UC lawn on a sunny day. You can watch the people playing Frisbee and the little squirrels going around. It is really relaxing.

Where's the best food on and off campus?
Off Campus: Sal’s is a little, cute Italian Restaurant with a great ambiance. The food is great and they have big portions.

On campus: My favorite on campus location is definitely upper uc which is on the second floor in the university center. You can eat different kinds of food such as Mexican, Japanese, and Chinese.
